Derek Oyston CHE Film Award

Selena Blake’s film gives a powerful voice to the LGBT community of Jamaica which routinely suffers violence. The film has achieved a rare degree of trust among the Jamaican LGBT community despite the fact that no one is able to be publicly out.

The Campaign for Homosexual Equality was set up in the UK in 1969 and is the oldest continuously running LGBT organization in the UK. The name Derek Oyston commemorates a legacy given by a supporter to the organization and the film prize is presented in his memory.

Best wishes
